found out that hankook v12s run kinda big, so i didnt get the stretch i expected, meaning i need to pull my fenders...

whats the best way to go about doing so
Hankook Ventus V12s do not run big lol. I see this tire every single day at work and I've owned a set. They're pretty true to size.

Looks fine to me, maybe your expectations of how far they'd stretch were too high.

This has probably been answered before. But I'm just curious.

Which is best, in your opinion for a 17x8 +40 rim?

215/50/17
225/50/17
215/40/17
225/40/17

Or something completely different.

Sleeper, do you already have said rims or are you looking to get them and wondering what size tire to get with them? If you have them and want to space them out and go flush then I would do 195/40/17 if you want a beefier set up which is ridiculous to say with 8" rims, I'd do 205/40/17. If you're looking to do what Matt did and keep it aggressive yet not super flush I'd do a 225/45/17. It all depends on what you're going for!

To put it into perspective, I'm running 9.5x18 and I have stretched 215/40's on there because I have a centimeter's worth of gap so anything bigger would rape.

It depends on your definition of silly. Some people think RWD-style staggered fitments on FWD cars look silly, but some people think a larger front tire & smaller rear tire looks silly (like a FWD drag car). As long as you don't mind, it shouldn't matter whether the general consensus thinks it may be silly or not. You obviously need the meaty tires for better traction, so go for it.

Bravo,

I really like what you said here. I will be running a "reverse" staggered setup. Most likely, after working with nighthawk over at v6p, I'll run a 17x 9/10 up front with a 245/255 and then a 17x8ish rear with a 225 for track use on either the rpf1s or some type of forged light wieght wheel like the motegi or buddy club race wheels
