I was visiting NYC over the weekend with a couple of friends. As I entered the Adirondacks park on the 87 south in Vermont after the borders, I noticed people were going increasingly fast. They where doing at least 130kph and the rangers didn't seem to care, they went after noone.
The worst was just after the Albany turnpike where I was getting tailgated at 150 KPH while people on the fast lane were doing 160 (which I won't complain about, because I hate driving slowly throughout long distance)
It seems police in the north-east are pretty loose regarding speeding. Where I live, in Quebec, law enforcers are quite strict.
What is the level of tolerance regarding speeding in your area? Is the police strict or rather tolerant?

be like it is
the bigger the area, the less the police care. go to a small town and there will be a cop checking speeds for sure. otherwise in the city (200k people) i just keep up with traffic most of the time...so 7-10mph over the limit.

about 80mph :D
but 160kph is pretty fast for the interstate...

edit*** 2 late on the conversion...but yeah i guess it just depends where you are...most people in my area about about 6 mph over the speedlimit minus a few outliers
