Funny.....I got pulled over on the Albany Tpke for doing 80 in a 55......NY State Troopers are no joke.....guy was a complete asshole too.

Haha the title of this thread is funny. Let me assure you, New York and surrounding states are not an accurate pool of how Americans (overall) drive in this country. I have driven in Jersey, Connecticut, and New York and people drive faster there than any other state I've driven in. Turn signals are useless there because if you want to get into a lane, you have to nudge yourself in. That may be exclusive to the interstates but everywhere I've driven in the northeast including those places and Pennsylvania and Maryland...I've never seen people drive the way they do.

It's really different everywhere you go in this country, in my experience driving out west (Colorado, Wyoming) I witnessed more constant slower speeds in traffic relative to posted speed limits than I have where I live or southern states like Kentucky, Tennessee, or Alabama. People seemed to drive faster I noticed in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

But based on where you were, I would agree with you that we drive fast, haha.

Yeah New York is definitely not a very good example of how most Americans drive. It's different wherever you go just like RedRyder said. Small cities people usually drive slower because the cops don't play and big cities people usually drive like idiots because they have somewhere to be on the other side of town. It's also different with tourist cities because you have a lot of rubber neckers trying to see all the sites depending on what season it is. I get so annoyed when I'm at Myrtle Beach and everyone is doing 5 under because they are on vacation.

We get a few Ontario drivers down here in the Twin Cities and they drive slow. as. balls. 5 miles under.

coming back/going to Import Alliance i was doing 81/82 in 70 zones and i was passing people like i was driving a formula 1 car (especially in michigan)

i try to go 10 miles over not more since i dont wanna deal with the risk of speeding tickets

I would not speak too much, You guys drive like idiots ( People From Quebec ) Every time I drive through Quebec to get to Ontario I get passed and I mean passed by ladies in Mini Vans, People driving like idiots. Tail Gaters From Hell, **** last year some idiot did not like my HID and forced me off the road, Then you got idiots that just want to race. I always HATE driving in Quebec and its not just in Quebec. This weekend I had some idiot fly up to me in this little town 60 KPH zone, swerving back and forth trying to look past me and he ended up passing me and flying like a bad out of hell and guess what, Quebec plates. But everytime I usually see a car driving like an idiot the plates are from Quebec.

1. If someone wants to race you and you don't, then nvm him.
2. HIDs in reflectors are illegal, assume the sh*t you'll get from having them.
3. If you don't want to drive fast, use the right lane. If you don't want to get tailgated, follow the traffic speed.

I have to agree that drivers in Quebec are not as courteous as in other provinces but in general, they are not ''idiots'', they just drive faster. 120KM/H is nowhere near dangerous on the highway and it is tolerated...

going to the states this past friday, theres a guy behind me on the 401 near toronto

im in the middle lane on cruise control going 130, i realize the guy doesnt have his lights on

all of a sudden he starts high beaming me and riding my ***...IN THE MIDDLE LANE, so reduce my cruise down to 105km/h

finally ... after maybe 5-6 minutes he decides to pass me by gunning it in the left lane and going approx. 150/160 hope he wrapped his car around a pole

as he passes by i see quebec plates, and his lights are still off
