the quarter master duals are loud...sounds like you have a bad throwout bearing when the clutch is down...
not familiar with the difference in push/pull type clutches...never heard a distinction between the two...
Basically it's the position of the clutch slave cylinder and how the TO bearing attaches to the pressure plate.
On the RB26 AWD transmission, the slave cylinder pushes the fork toward the front of the car (and the fork pivots on the ball, obviously moving in the opposite direction) and "pulls" against the pressure plate instead of pushing on it. Because of this, the Throwout bearing is actually attached to the pressure plate....and it is VERY hard to separate when thins are assembled. You actually have about a 1"x1" square to reach down from the top of the transmission to the TO bearing to try and separate them with a big-*** flathead screwdriver or similar tool. But wait! before you do that, you have to reach in that same 1"x1" opening to reach for a clevis pin holding the fork onto a pivot point, using some 12" or longer needle nose pliers...and MOST of the time this isn't correctly positioned from that hole opening (fortunately, mine was).
It gets more complicated from there, but yea...
So when I'm swapping the transmission bellhousings over, I just have to run a 90-96 300zx N/A clutch, RB26 flywheel (yes, they all bolt up...crazy, isn't it?), an RB25DET slave cylinder, 300zx TO bearing, 300zx clutch pivot ball and fork (in order to install those, I just have to tap 3 holes...very simple), and VOILA! I have a "normal" push type clutch!
