Insurance company just loaded these up, had to take the car to their shop to get an estimate because the lady is pretending to be hurt and they want to be able to prove there wasn't enough damage to either vehicle to cause serious bodily injury - just thought a few of you might want to see what happens when old ladies slam on their brakes for no reason and your poor Accord locks up and slides into the back of her Altima... :squintfinger:

(yes I already replaced the headlight)

And a picture I took of her car on the scene:

Dented plastic bumper = pop dent, scuff up, repaint. Hell, even the gaps along the side of the bumper were fine, damn thing didn't move at all.

What do you guys think?

Oh, and I posted this already, but here's what the car's going to look like in a week or so (getting it fixed asap now that the estimate's done and I can take the car to my buddy's ship to get fixed):

Yea, definitely no way anyone could have gotten hurt. I am glad you are getting things fixed quickly, and from the looks of it, it will be better than ever!

That's what everyone keeps telling me and I keep trying to tell myself, haha. It's just scary because I have the bare minimum coverage for insurance so it'll be easy to go over my max coverage if it does go through, and then IDK what happens. I've been really stressed over it lately but I'm trying to get over it.

The estimate from my company was $1800 (their replacement parts were way overpriced). Two shops quoted me right at a $1k. I'm getting it done for $400. :D

I locked up at about 35 I'd say, I was almost stopped when I hit her... MAYBE 10-15 at the most, but I doubt even that. If she hadn't stopped so damn fast I would have been able to stop without hitting her at all. Even as I locked up and swerved to the left I didn't think I was going to hit her. Stupid bitch.

Plus the fact that as soon as I hit her I was able to pull right in front of her and off onto the shoulder kinda shows that there wasn't a damn thing in front of her to warrant her stopping on a dime like that.

Lets hope my insurance company fights her to death over this.

Yea, if you were traveling less than 20 mph, there is next to no chance of injury. If you can prove that there wasnt anything in front of her to cause her sudden braking, it will help you a ton.
