Okay okay okay.
From someone who has spend a ****load of time in the US, a ****load of time in Ontario and a ****load of time in Quebec.
Quebec: People drive fast, no matter what lane your in, and people have a general attitude problem... generally speaking... if I am doing 105kph in the left lane, and there is a guy doing 95 in the middle, I am allowed to use the left... Which is true.
Ontario: Drive Really Fast, and don't respect the left lane (aka "Passing"). How many times I've come up on the highway, and there is some idiot with Ontario plates sitting in the left lane when there are 2 other lanes open, or they are getting passed in the middle lane.
More than that... They will "move over", and let you by, and then they will signal back and go back to blocking the person who was behind you!! (When in a Convoy of cars).
WTF!!
Most of the US: People respect other motorists if you follow the rules. You don't drive in the left lane unless your passing and once you've passed you move over. They aren't afraid of running red lights or taking the wrong turn to let emergency vehicles pass though.
In Canada, I've seen countless times people sitting at a Red Light, while an ambulance or fire truck is sitting there with their sirens blaring. MOVE THE **** OUT OF THE WAY!! You WONT GET A TICKET.
Also in Canada, people don't repsect the Left Lane... EVER. People drive in it casually when there are 2 other lanes that they can use!!
I don't tailgate, but I do like to "Flash To Pass" people sitting in the left lane when I want to get by them.
