Cell Phone Tickets are real?

Lol... I know it's pretty ****ing stupid but I actually just got a ticket for talking on the phone and driving. I have a bluetooth headset but just lost it the other day and have been searching everywhere for it. So long story short I saw a bike cop pretty far off on the other side of an intersection, so I ended my call instantly, but he pulled me over and gave me one.

From what I read online the ticket is supposed to be 20 dollars... but with the fees the court adds on, it can go up to like 130 just for formalities. :/ That sucks.

I don't want any sympathy or bashing, I don't think people should talk on the phone and drive, and what I did was in the wrong and I knew it. I just was talking to a friend because she was having some serious relationship issues and I was like eh whats the chances of seeing a cop.

Point of this thread was just to put it out there- they are giving tickets for it. (At least the ones that need to hit their quota! haha)

the other day i was on the 57 headin to mah grandparents.....saturday afternoon...so should be no reason for traffic....well the flow of traffic was about 50...i was like...WTF is going on and why is everyone going so slow.....

i pulled up to the head of traffic and saw a highway patrol jus cruising.....i pull up next to him....and he's on his cell phone......

They can get pretty pricy! (I work at the court) and a bunch of ppl get out of here mad!
If im correct i believe its around $150-$200 dont quite remember

what a bummer. the law here is no talking on the phone while driving only if youre under 18
