Would this be the best deal/price for pistons? That's a lot of money...

lower compression pistons, you COULD reuse the stock rods if money is tight, but BC or any other f22 rod will do

I got pistons from these guys and they got pretty good customer service. At first I ordered them from some other place that messed my order up and sent me f22 pistons so i gave these guys a try and everything went pretty smoothly. Just one thing to be careful about.. Your shipping+delivery+credit card address MUST be the same or else the site gives you an error and says to try again but in reality it DOES charge you. It gave me like 5 errors and when I checked my bank account it was at -1500$ so it froze it for 2 days until everything got cleared up.

its hard to find f23 pistons anywhere else. k20 pistons would be cheaper but every piston i looked for was 9.1 or more CR

Good news is I made 250whp and 300wtq. Bad news is that I blew a ringland. Therefore, I need to upgrade pistons and rods. I need serious input about the components I need to order - this needs to be done ASAP as this is my daily driver. All those who built their internals, where did you get the components? I will just be replacing the rods and pistons, no boring or sleeving. Specs should be the same, or similar to stock. When I overhauled the head they shaved 0.005" off of it, so which pistons will I need to bring the compression back to stock specs? I at least need stock specs even if compression is a tad higher.

ALL input appreciated.

How did you discover this? Did you tear the engine down?

not to get off topic, but is it better to run lower compression or our stock compression for turbo? Since all the other built guys are running like 8.5:1 or something..
Does that mean they need to run more boost to get the power level compared to a less boost on higher compression for the same power output?

I think its better to run stock compression with forged pistons but I didn't find anyone who offered forged with 9.3:1 compression and you pretty much explained why in your 2nd question

^ I see..
Reason im asking is due to emission testing when I have to convert back to stock injectors and computer for 20mins for the test.Keeping a built motor close to stock specs wont effect anything during this time period.
Figured lower compression the car wouldn't run with stock computer in place.

With emissions closer to stock compression would make it easier to run with the OEM ECU.

F23 pistons are easy to find, JE and CP both make off the shelf products for our motor. just give them a call. I have had both ha-ha. And i believe you can find either for around $500 or less...
also crower and eagle both make rods for our cars. I believe crower is cheaper than eagle.

I would do a compression test to find out what exactly is going on, or which one has lost compression... that way you can narrow it down.

At the minimum buy aftermarket pistons rings, the OEM ones are crap for boosting.... if you can afford it pistons and rods, bearings, pumps etc. while you have the thing torn apart....

hes probably throwing blue smoke from the exhaust

for forged yes this would be the cheapest price
ive been searching through the a** and couldnt find a better deal/ but you can still search more i guess

why dont you run the k20 pistons 9:1:1/ to me this CR is the best option for boosting for our motors.
with this CR u still have a little bottom end power and with the turbo u slap on your going to get great top end
the 8:5:1 CR piston that CP makes, makes no low end power/ plus i think it makes the turbo laggiar(if that even a word) lol

I'd like to get these pistons & rings as advertised:
http://www.raceeng.com/p-11770-honda-f23a860mm851-std-bore-set.aspx

Are those rings sufficient for a build, or should I invest in forged rings seperately?

Time for rods. Which rods should I buy? I'd like to maintain a stock, or slightly lower compression for boost. I HAVE shaved 5 thousandths of an inch (0.005") off the head when it was overhauled. How can I compensate for that?

Did a compression test:

Diagram:
4-3-2-1
| | | |
O-O-O-O

1: 0
2: 60
3:0
4:30

It could be erroneous results though.. My car runs just fine right now except it burns a WHOLE LOT of oil and appears to only be working on 3 cylinders. Yes there is lots of blue smoke from under the hood and even more from the exhaust..
