Re: Russianred's Turbo Build Thread!

Departure right now to tear into the Accord again. I got an idea to fix the leak without taking the IM off, but we'll see. I already have an IM gasket ordered at the dealer in case I will be needing to do that. Also going to install fogs at the same time.

Monday = Tune, if they can get me in the shop and I fix this sh*t!

Good luck with the fix, seems like you know what you are doing so hopefully its an easy fix. It always seems like its one problem after another on a lot of forced introduction builds but it will be worth it in the end. GL and great progress!

Re: Russianred's Turbo Build Thread!

Good news.

I got the boost leak fixed - it was muuuuch easier taking the IACV and Blacktraxx plate off the second time around. Everything is secure and well sealed. When testing the pressure at throttle body, the coupler blew off at 40psi, and no air leaks so bingo - no boost leaks!

The downside is that my idle is sh*t now (400RPM), and my car can't ride without dying. I have to restart it every time.

The upside is, that come Monday, it's dyno tuning time, and they will be able to take care of the idle problem there! :D The moment we have long awaited :D.

Other news, I got the rest of the fog light harness installed cleanly, and now I just need to ground a few places and mount the fogs!

Do we have an idle adjustment screw? I cant remember. If not to temp fix you idle, you could unplug the cruise control vacuum hose. The small vacuum leak would probably bring you idle up some.

That's a great idea bro, I'll have to try that, because I can't cruise at all without it dying at idle.

The reason my idle was perfect before is because I had that vacuum leak, and now that it's fixed, it chokes out. I am sooo f*cking happy I can't wait until Monday!

Everything on it is perfect now, just needs the T-U-N-E!!!

It does have an idle adjustment screw, sort of like an adjustable FPR - allen bolt, with a nut around it and it adjusts by turning the bolt, but it's almost inaccessible since it's right under the throttle rotor. I talked to Jason (AFAccord) today, and he informed me of this, but I think I will let the tuner mess with it, since I have done enough work already, and that's something tuners should tweak anyways as part of the process.
