Hi Guys...thought I'd post a few pics taken during my recent 5-speed swap. I did the swap using info I found on 6thgenaccord for the most part. I'm still figuring out the last bits of the wiring, but this is what's been happening.

Here's my car the first day of the tear-down.

Here's what I did for a spacer behind the clutch pedal bracket in lieu of washers. I used 1/2" lexan sheet cut on a bandsaw & drill press. Once I got to fitting it, I believe I had to trim it down to a smaller profile than what you see in the pic.

Here's my new clutch & brake pedals from my donor car. The brake pedal is a bitch. Getting the auto one off and the new one in was a battle because of the top bolt.

The Clutch pedal was even worse..mainly because of my home-made clutch reinforcement bracket. Which I made from a spare brake pedal reinforcement bracket from my donor car. the nut is already welded on and you just have to cut & bend it & drill a hole. A big sheet metal screw holds it up under the dash and it bolts to the clutch pedal bracket.....drilling the hole underneath the dash took a special long bit, and driving the screw home was a 2 hour drama.

Here's my auto tranny finally removed from the car ...Took me a week or more to get this far....I was pretty careful and took alot of photos for reference. Did I mention this was my first serious mechanical effort?...heh....YEah all I'd done before this was lowered my suspension, replaced a radiator and installed a stereo.

Here's a buddy of mine helping me line up the new manual tranny using a ratcheting band clamp and some wood blocks.

here's the manual 5-speed just as we got it bolted in. Getting the auto tranny out and the new one in is about the only times I absolutely needed another person to help.

Thought the photogs on this site might like this....This is my auto tranny drain plug with about 3 years of filings clinging to it. Taken with Nikon D300 & 105mm micro-nikkor @ f/32

that's a lot of filings...

I thought most of the parts on our engine is aluminum not iron or steel.
