So Im in the process of building an engine for a customer that I think you guys would appreciate.
Its for a 93 Civic hatch that is immaculate. I mean, completely flawless down to the bronze TE-37's. There have been few chassis so deserving of such a crazy engine build.
We started with an 04 TSX long block, took the head off, stripped the bottom end and sent it out to Laskey Racing. They work beside Benson to sleeve the cylinders, and then go about stuffing some custom 12.5:1 CP pistons into the 87mm bore. Carillo rods and ACL race bearings finalized the rotating assembly to create a nearing bullet proof bottom end. They also did the proper modifications to the block to allow us to run an RSX oil pump so the oil wont cavitate at high rpms.
We then sourced a 06 RSX Type S head. After I stripped it of all the valves, springs, and cams, we shipped it off to the Old Wise One at Endyn. There they CnC-ed the ports, the combustion chamber and the valve seats to perfection. Then they installed the over sized valves, Titanium retainers, and high tension valve springs.
We then asked the good folks at Endyn to team up with the number one fabricator in Honda headers, Hytech. Hytech also designed us some one off cams to work perfectly with the header they've created.
This engine is predicted to have a power output of over 260whp. Although I'm hoping its closer to 300whp. Also, this engine will be producing this much power sans turbo. After all, Honda's were meant to be NA.
Here are some pics of my progress so far. I got held up by a couple missing o-rings and seals.
Also, I finally dynoed my M3. The engine is completely stock as of now, right down to the air filter. Given my h22 made a touch more HP, the M3 makes more torque at idle than my h22 did peak. There is something to be said for torque.
I love having my own dyno.
