I don't have as much power for the subs but I've got nearly the same amount overall and still use the OEM alternator. As in 197k miles OEM. I do have an upgraded battery up front, a second one in the rear and upgraded wiring throughout. One thing I can suggest from years in the audio hobby is to always use the motor to keep the battery charged. Listening with the key off will cause all kinds of problems that can be remedied by simply turning the key. Once the battery voltage drops the alternator has to over work to charge the battery back to the level it needs to be at. This repeatedly will kill an alternator regardless of the size or capacity.

Do you have problems with the current setup? I would look into what you want and what you need before you buy stuff.

2400 to the sub and 600 for the front stage :omgbd: I might add another set of comps and another 600 to power them...we will see. The Odyssey alt is what 130A? That would help a lot. You can find a HO alt that gives you about 160-200A for $160-$600 depending on who makes it. Irragi sells them on ebay, although I'm not endorsing them from experience. IMO Ohiogen is the best. I suggest just calling and seeing what is available for you. It never hurts to talk to the best. :) 330-875-6677
