Oh yea it was a ploy indeed.... lol.... brought my $hit into work with me since they aren't in my headlights anymore... they go back in tomorrow... anyways I ended up opening one of the transformers up so I could solder the + and - wires instead of having that ghey connector which mine kept falling out of... anyways.. got those soldered in place and since I was getting bored I cut the "white wires" :skurred: and added in about a foot and a half of wire to it... since I could not find our heatshrink I just twisted the wires together and secured them with butt connectors temporarily so I could see if they would even work or not.... went outside and hooked that bitch up to the battery and what do I have....a brightass light....ZOMG!!! :run: so when I come into work tomorrow I am going to finish both lights up with soldered wires covered with some heatshrink... and seal up the transformer with some silicone around the openings to keep out moisture.........buuuut if you wanna buy 2 transformers anyways knock yourself out... just saves you from having to "mod" them... lol

so you can extend the white wires? I ordered a set last night and was going to extend them because they looked too short.

Yea I had no problems with them flickering or whatever they said would happen if you extended them. As to how far you can extend them before you run into problems I am not really certain.

The wires are kinda short depending on what you wanna do with them... think they are like 12"

so I'll be fine as long as I just extend them for the 2 headlights? I'll make them as short as possible.

alright after a good amount of soldering and heatshrinking got one extended just a little over a foot and a half and the other at 2 feet...the 2 foot one kinda lit up but I wanna say this was the bulb that was giving me **** while they were in my headlights... maybe I should've tried this with new CCFL's since I have them... lol

I would say if you add another foot to each you should be good... anything over that and you could be pushing it... I'll play around with them some more... :D

Wow I haven't been in this thread for a while. Good job Daniel with the CCFLs. I'm just curious if you post some pics up of how your particular install went.

As for this...

I'm going to see what I can do with some a strip of LEDs, and some paint.
( owning myself maybe :ownedrun: )

It's going to be one of my first mods with the exception of a front end swap...

Well I haven't reinstalled them yet... was going to but got a little side tracked... when I get home from work I'm probably going to be installing my prelude shifter and maybe pop the headlights open... :)

ccfl's are fluorescent lights. the white wire is a power wire. you could extend it from nyc to la and as long as its grounded correct, im pretty sure it would still work and not have any "flickering" problems.
