    2005 Lotus

A longtime and good friend of mine recently acquired a new to him car, which is a 2005 Lotus. He wanted to learn how to clean it up and maintain. I offered him to teach him on a weekend where I was free. He gladly accepted my offer and we set up a day. The car only had a single owner before he bought it so it was in good condition to begin with. After a couple of hours of hard work on his part of course we took it for a drive to get a feel of the car. We took it to some back roads and surprisingly the car's power to weight ratio feels really good. Had a blast and grabbed some food to catch up and parted ways. Onto the pics....

Started with wheels, applying Hydro afterwards

Followed with foam, clay, iron X. For protection, applied Hydro to all surfaces

What I learned from this detail:

Cannot spray water around rear tail lights. The design of it will allow water to seep through and flood the trunk area.

Thanks if you guys read the whole thread. Any comments or input are always welcomed.

    2013 Evo X

This job was a referral from a car I did previously. They are good friends and work together at the same job. The customer now a friend of mine bought the Evo X from a used car dealership and noticed a lot of scratches and rock chips. He contacted me and we got together in person to inspect the car and talk about the options and my approach to address the issues. I suggested to him to buy the touch up paint from the dealership ahead of time to be prepared ahead of schedule. He dropped off his car and it was time for me to get to work.

What I learned from this job:

Always do a walk around the whole car before performing any work. Never know what you might find. In this case, the whole car was polished by dealer before it was sold

I'm not sure if Mitsubishi's paint quality is on the low side or too much polishing by previous work resulted in very low paint readings

Paint hardness was on the medium side

Thanks for viewing for those who made it this far. Appreciate comments and questions are welcomed. I had a lot of fun working on this car.

    Toyota Prius: Enhancement Package

Referral from the white toyota truck. I spoke with the owner of the prius briefly the first time I met him about his car. He wanted to get his car protected for the upcoming winter season, and informed me about some chips that needed to be filled in. I recommended him the enhancement package to deeply clean the exterior and apply a durable paint sealant that would last anywhere from 4-6 months if parked outside on the streets.

The car was dropped off and I got to work on it. Post decontamination, the paints true condition was revealed and a lot more chips popped up from his initial concern. A couple areas required polishing out isolated scratches as well.

Started with wheels/tires, wash car, decontaminate paint

    Lem,

Any thought of redoing the garage floor to make clean up easier for you as well?

You're doing great work with the cars, and the tips are appreciated for those of us considering doing our own work.

Thanks Chris. I treat all cars the same. Daily driver or high end. :waytogo:

Hey Derek! The floor will eventually be repaved and sealed to make things easier for me. Atm it's not centered and leveled so it's a bit annoying with dead water pools.... Appreciate it Derek that the tips are helpful to others. :waytogo:
