Okay so my friend wants to remove the powersteering on his 2000 V6 Coupe because he "thinks" he will get horsepower from it and he says it will quote:
"give me so much more room in the engine bay and you can like feel each bump in the road it's so sick dude."
How do I keep him from screwing up his car like this? What are his ACTUAL gains/drawbacks if he goes through with this? (I know he could just as easily reinstall the powersteering I'm just saying how do I keep him from wasting his time removing the pump and reinstalling it)
He is also going to remove his AC compressor. Will he reap any gains from this either? I heard maybe some HP but almost nothing.
ALSO may I emphasize the only reason he is doing these things is for horsepower. So if there are no HP gains, he has no reason to do it.
I guess I just don't understand it. I'm pretty sure they call it "bolt on" for a reason. Not "remove to see minimal gains if any."
Help me out guys I need to gather some facts before this weekend when he does it.
