Ok this is a question for anyone that has used richies harness; Chris, matt, ect. The ecu is gettin programmed to my key tomorrow. The swap is getting done tomorrow as well. Do i install the Tl s ecu, put the car in d1, install the harness then proceed with the engine and transmission swap? I'm just confused on the process of which this ecu gets installed.

The new motor and tranny assembly has to be in before you can hook it up to the new ECU and Rich’s module. Your module should have come with installation instructions. As for the ECU, there is no critical point at which it has to be installed as far as I know, as long as it is all hooked up before turning the car back on for the first time. Even if there is, the ECU can be reset so it shouldn’t hurt anything.

I don’t think we did the D1 thing, I think the process is evolved since that was posted, or Rich new a different way to go about things.

Thanks. And I pm'd rich and talked to him. So Honda said it was impossible to program the Tl s ecu to my key? They apparently tried to as well. So I'm just waiting on that for the ecu. Richies harness's instructions look easy enough it shouldnt be hard to wire that up. I'm doing it with a family friend who's been a mechanic for 30+ years.

Might wanna PM Mike (MikeyMike) to ask him how the Key is programmed to the ECU. He's in New York too on Strong Island, and if you can get in touch with him he might ask whoever did it for him. Just a thought.

So.. what do you do to get around, bike or take a bus? Arrange to borrow a car to get to 50/50 and get done what you need to, because you know it IS k ind of important to get it started and get going..

I mean, if you can't find anything closer. Is it that hard to arrange a ride or borrow a car for a few hours? I don't know your circumstances but I can't imagine it would be THAT hard if you were really determined to do it?

My friend did it for me. There a bunch of places that do it. All you have to do is remove the chip and I verified it with Paul. I changed a bunch of thing with the build so it'll be updated with my final build list when the cars done.
