Hmm...so you are saying the 01-02 auto cc should plug into my 98-00 wiring harness? He is saying it wouldn't work...I don't see why Honda would change that though. No matter the year, it's still an auto cc unit, and they do the same thing...

But he has it in his possession and said he couldn't plug his 98-00 harness into the back of the 01-02 HVAC unit.

Damn I missed that part. I don't see why they would change the connectors. I'll look further. Sorry for the misinformation

No worries man, I'm glad you are posting in here. Thanks for helping me solve this haha. Where are you finding these wiring diagrams, etc?

Yeah as long as the 01-02 HVAC unit can work with the 98-00 harness, I'm doing this. But I don't want to change the whole dash harness to make this work, I'm not that dedicated to this mod lol.

Only real reason I'm doing this is for the silver bezel that came on 01-02 coupes, and the fact that the 01-02 HVAC layout is a little cleaner and more modern. But I guess if worse comes to worse, I could just buy a black 98-00 bezel and paint it silver.

That's the exact reason I went with the 01-02 bezel also Lol.
As for the diagrams I got the service manual from Levin.

I agree changing the harness would be to much work lol.

When I tried to get the hazard switch to work I was going of a diy where the guy did the opposite (98 switch in a 01) and I got confused, blowing the multiplex. Now I have the diagram I can see that all the wires are the same but the locations are different on the plug. Re pinning is the best way or getting a pig tail . That may work for the HVAC if the wires are the same just dif. Connectors

Completely different connectors. The 98-00 dont have the digital signal to make the auto climate control work.

are you sure its not a difference between i4 and V6? I have never seen a i4 with a digital climate control. Year really shouldn't matter.

Year is the difference, it's another one of the things that changed between 98-00 and 01-02.

Christopher.....what are you doing?

:lawl:

I think you're gonna end up finding that it'll be better, cheaper, and less labor-intensive to buy a black one and paint it. The day I found out I could have wood grain, I got it. :lawl: I didn't like the silver/grey at all.

It doesn't make sense but it makes Honda-sense to change the plugs, etc. They'd do just that sort of thing.
