I may just do that this weekend. I think I have a spare headphone jack lying around somewhere, and I want to mount it to the front of the unit :)

do it! but i wonder if it's the same for a 6 disk player? but i want to keep radio functions too..but i want to see how you did it first before i play around with it. :badger:

okay I'm takin out my radio unit right now. Mine isn't the kind with bass/treble knobs though.. its got the single knob with tuner/bass options through the LCD. Will it still work basically the same?

Maybe I missed something... but if you still have the factory stereo in your car wouldn't it not work the same as a 6th gen stereo?

if I had your radio with the tape player, I woulld cut into the wires coming from the tape head or somewhere in there.

mine just has a cd player.

if it's made by matsu****a/panasonic it should be similar enough to have the same radio module though. as I said before th scematic I pointedf to wasn't for my exact radio either, it was a much older looking version, similar to yours actually

there's a metal plate blocking it to the tape..so i d k.

what about going in from the bottom instead of the top?

on mine the bottom and top popped off and eventually, so did the back. (the back was thicker to provide heat dissipating properties for the amplifier ic's)

dont try to takee the bottom off till you pop the faceplate off. on mine the faceplate sort of held part of the bottom on.

once you get the faceplate off it should be fairly simple t o take the rest apart. thesee radios are amazingly modular..nothing like an aftermarket radio. my estimate would be that honda paid 30-50 bucks a piece for these then sold them for about 300-500.

I didn't realize the whole unit was the cd changer, I assumed it was an extra modular piece
