so as you may have read, im doing a wire tuck. let me say, its a bitch. im sooooo exhausted from wiring, i cant even explain. however, i have some photos from the work so far. it looks like a complete mess in the bay right now, wires everywhere, but hey, theres gotta be some mess before stuff gets organized again. im aiming to be done with it by mid next week, and im currently on hold til tomorrow when i get more electrical tape... i just hope it really isnt supposed to rain all weekend long like the weather forecast says.

either way, here are some WIP shots, note that nothing is completed yet, and this is only like 50% of the way done. also, note the disgusting state that the passenger side harness is in. i forgot how poorly i wired it the first time, and have now virtually rebuilt that section of harness, trimming off wires i dont need, etc etc.

all i gotta do now, is find which sensors my ECU isnt looking for, so i can remove the plugs from the harness and free up some more space/clean it up.

the next few days will be just redoing more grounds, my main 12v line, and my main chassis ground. also, im working on polishing the manifold back up, and my new wire brush drill bit is workin out nicely for removing the rust. i may also have a crack at just buffing up the rest of the aluminum, although i need a bigger brush first.

hope you enjoy these, bare in mind its a WIP, and i hope this inspires you to do some wire tucking of your own!!

Any luck with emissions? I did not know you were OBD1.

The way they do it here is, they check for codes on my ecu and if its clean then I passed. They don't use the sniffer or anything. I passed even with a megan test pipe. :lawl:

nope, no luck with emissions so far. im trying to find out if i can apply for an exemption status for bieng a hot rod, although, you technically need to have a car thats pre 1998... which sucks since im 02. ill figure it out somehow...

and as far as WHP, its most likely between 250-275 right now. ill be sure to get it dynod when i have the money, and the car is all up to spec

Are there any limitations on registering your car a hot rod? Im looking for options for my 86 toyota. I think if i wait one more year and ill be exempt, but i cant wait that long to drive it.

I know here in Ohio if its 25yrs+ old, its an historical vehicle. Thats how I plan on registering my corolla. Then I can do whatever I want to it.

Are you having any trouble with the clutch slave cylinder going bad with all that pressure, I have the extreme pressure plate from ACT and mine keeps getting blown out from all the extra pressure.... They all have been the new cast iron OEM cylinders too....

You experiencing anything like that?

hotaccord, perhaps it's time you look into a twin disc setup. Setups from good companies usually have less pedal pressure than a stage 3/4/5 single disc setup, but still hold more power.

I can't imagine what you guy's pedal pressure feels like with these ACT's. When I first installed my Action 2KS with a dual diaphragm pressure plate, I thought something was stuck because the pedal was hard as a rock. After a few months, I was used to it, and it only bothered me in traffic, but it would literally lift me up in the seat when I pressed it (all 200lbs of me). When I drove a friend's stock 06 Accord 6-speed, I swore I broke the pedal the first time I depressed the clutch because it just 'sank' to the floor as soon as I touched it, but it was just my leg that was used to two pressure plates. I've driven a 900whp supra, a 730whp Shelby cobra, and a 500whp Mach 1 which all had much softer pedal pressure than my silly 'stock' accord with this massive pressure plate.

The only problem I ever experienced with that clutch was breaking the ball stud that the release fork pivots on. This was obviously due to the pressure, but I never had issues with the hydraulic system. I guess what I'm getting at, is there are drive train companies out there with improved technology that make life (read:driving) easier for people making big power, and then there are companies who just use a super stiff diaphragm to increase clamp load and leave us with issues like blown clutch cylinders. :eusa_doh:
