I still think Ported can handle more power. And just about any sub can handle more than it's power rating, but the question is for how long.

Hmmm.......I don't know about, because a ported sub + air flow can cause damage to the sub that a sealed enclosure doesn't expose the sub to.

be like it is
the PGs are tanks for what they are (cheap, common)...

as for the sealed/ported ultimate power handling...i don't know if there's a "universal" equation to say one can handle more than the other  reason is dont know is i'm trying to keep my system under 600W total for a personal challenge and using sealed boxes is my perference...

"This can be good or bad, depending on your viewpoint. Small sealed enclosures need more juice to achieve comparable SPL's to ported, so make sure you have enough amplifier for the task if you choose this route."

I found a few other pages that talks about this also.

So im going to venture out and say it does about a 141 on the termlab, im a little dissapointed. My 15" q did 148.2 on some random mic at my local shop and a 142.3 on the termlab. The bl hit 147.1 at my local shop so in the 141 region on the termlab, and thats not legal either. Time to start designing a 6th order bandpass for the next comp :naughty:
