Modding cars is the worst mistake ive ever made!

speaking of hobbies.....imagine all the money ive wasted on broken skateboard decks. granted they dont add up to car parts, but at like ~$50 a deck, it adds up after youve broken quite a few. id say ive had around 30-40 decks....thats a lot of money, haha.

When I use to skate, I went through a deck about every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Man, was that a cheaper hobby than modding cars

Cameras can escalate to a far more disgusting hobby than cars. In fact, I had considered selling my accord to buy a 1Ds MKII. Glad i Didn't.

^^I agree that cameras can be hella more expensive than cars. My buddy has a camera that is worth way more than my car. That's not including the lenses

My biggest thing right now is Billiards...runs me about $100-$150 a month

I think about all the money I've spent on my car a lot. But I know that it is something that I'll never get out of. And I have spent my money on a lot worse things than car parts (drugs/partying) in the past. Lately, I've been considering selling my car and getting a Grand Cherokee or something similar, but I know as soon as I do that I'll be buying wheels and tires for it, lift kits etc etc.

Kinda like NINaudio said, the way I look at it is a car isn't really mine until I've given it some style. Anyone can roll around in a boring *** stock vehicle. And if you think about it a good majoity of cars on the road nowadays are modded in some way. Even if its just spinning hubcaps.

My secret to not over spending on my car is just being patient, and waiting till I find that deal that is too good to pass up. Then I buy. That is why I dont have exhaust yet, or coilovers, because I know that eventually a great deal will come. I have nothing but name brand parts on my car, and I have spent very little money on those parts. Granted my car is not anywhere as heavily modded as some of the cars on here, but I do get plenty of complements on my car, and that is good enough for me.

I do'nt know about you guys but I do get an a good amount of compliments and head turns with my car and since it's an Accord, it's even better. Of course I regret making some purchases that made me waste more money than I should have, but like Roy said, it's just a learning experience and it's totally fun for me. Heck, if I didn't spend money on my car, I'll probably just blow it on some other hobby. Or MORE gas money to get somewhere.
