What engine did you end up getting?

Problems... The yard sent the wrong engine - the non VTEC four cylinder. The mechanic is going to get it from another place now but it will cost more - now $450 for the engine and $450 for the labor and other parts. My car has the F23A4 (ULEV), so thats what I want them to put in because I don't want any issues with the ECM. I want a straightforward swap.

I have a 99 accord with an f23 also. I took such good care of this motor and I got the same thing, oil in the coolant. These engines are known to have this problem. I found out the hard way. Need a new engine. In the middle of an f20b swap right now. What a nightmare!

You do realize it could have been as simple as a head gasket right?

Looks really good! Not too bad of a price either for the whole thing either.

This way, at least you know that the motor is sound when you put it in and start it up, you won't have any worries for a LONG time with the motor.

So i finally got my shortblock mounted to my engine stand. I had to get a much longer bolt for the bottom left engine stand ear to work since there isn't any threaded hole, just a smooth bore hole. Still haven't figured out why that is, but isn't there an engine stiffner plate that bolts up somehow? And why is the back of the water pump exposed and open like this?
