They dont impound you, they ref you. Then ill remove it all. But honestly ive gotten pulled over by a hole chps before and theve mentioned my exhaust which is absouletly legal but they have never asked me to lift my hood. If they like i said i think you just go to the ref becuase the chp arent qualified to really say whats legal and whats not. A bridge ill have to cross if it ever happens.

Perhaps your not properly informed. In southern california, mainly los angeles county, they actually have check points where they inspect your car (they being any law enforcement agency, but mostly lapd) they first check for a catalytic converter, if that's not there they automatically impound for driving a vehicle with tampered emissions equipment. I'm not sure if its a federal law, but not something I want to play with.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble, I wish you and everyone the best of luck with their projects, however I am trying to enlighten you to some reality. You asked if your plan sounded good. My answer is no. But ultimately its up to you.

I don't recommend looking into the missing link, in fact I'd stay away from everything having to do with it. I'd begin researching OBD1 conversions, P28 chipped ECU's, and Crome / eCtune software tuning. I'd also start looking for SOHC Honda tuners in your area. Research turbo options in general, missing link can be avoided by P28 conversion, or standalone systems. Do your research before asking any more specific questions on this. There's a lot of into on this site regarding all of this, and infinite information on the rest of the internet.

I can honestly say that this isnt a whim of the moment idea either, i bought this car car close to 4 years ago with 10k miles. Ive almost got the pink. But when i bought this car i had every intention of swaping the tranny and boosting. But when i learned the laws in CA i got discouraged from boosting. Now my goal is to boost it but have as little time between tear downs as possible to get it back togather. The more i read about others with this kit the more i start to think maybe its not what i was hoping for. Im just really afraid of fittment issues piecing a turbo build togather. I dont want to have remove my ac or fabricate front motor mounts..

I have a 12:1 FMU and missing link..running 7psi 2years.. :ohyou: but no point in boosting when you keep factory injectors that max out at 190hp..
but i have my AEM EMS waiting..

just do some research, turbonectics is a great kit,but not all kits are "bolt on" that kit involves welding the DP together, fitting it,ect..then of course whats beeing discussed engine management/tuning

The good thing about our engines, is that they are not a very high compression engine. It's not really that low for turbo either, kinda in between. Before you can do anything, check your compression in each cylinder before you start spending all that money. I know I say it a lot, but on our 6thgen, its so easy. And it gives you a starting point to see how healthy your engine is.

well im definately never going odb1. the best its going to get is aem ems or something.

Dont bother with EMS. That sh!t is garbage. Just get a Hondata S300, a conversion harness and a 2 or 3 bar map sensor. That car will run way better than it ever could using AEM EMS. However, just like EMS, Hondata will not pass emissions if they try to plug in.
