since you haven't answered my serious question....

Jae, how the f*** did they let you just test drive one? No offense, but even like decent BMWs and Corvettes are near impossible to test drive if you're a 22 yr old who just walks in.

Joo no rolling in cash (at least that I know of) so how did you manage?? :eh:

(Cuz I wanna do whatever you did so I can test drive one too) :lawl:

These cars have a "black box" a lot like the ones on aircraft. They record information about the car and save it for I think three days. Thus, if the car is abused, or if the owner blows the engine, Nissan techs will be able to see exactly what led to the problem.

So if you buy one, and abuse it, and something breaks, and you try and get it covered under warranty, Nissan will know, and the repair won't be covered.

Big brother FTL.

i don't think its lame at all...its not nissan saying you can't drive fast or anything...its Nissan saying if you mess up the car from abusing it...we won't cover it...all companies should have the choice of what they are going to warranty cover...and for too long the customer has had the upper hand and lied in order to get warranty(like the STi incident where the guy turned up the boost....blew his motor...then took it to a dealer who told him no....then he removed the boost controller and went to another dealer who replaced his motor under warranty....he told the internet this who then actually got him in trouble)....its liars like that that cause companies like to give us ****ty warranties in the first place....Nissan shouldn't have to do this but apparently it does to keep liars from screwing them over....

nothing is free in this world...gotta pay to play....this isn't some race car that you can buy....abuse...and have Nissan fix it every time you screw it up

Well, first off, I'm not one to abuse a car. And if I'm going to spend $80k on a car, I'm going to baby the **** out of it. But honestly, it's nobodies business but my own how I choose to treat it.

If I want to drive it like a granny and wash it five times a week, that's my business. If I want to drive it through a mudhole, that's also my business. No one elses. Only mine.

Just my .02 though. The car was designed to be a high performance vehicle, and if Nissan is worried about Warranty claims due to failed components from driving the vehicle the way it was designed to be driven, then maybe they should rethink their motives.

Now, just so there isn't any confusion, notice I said "the way it was designed to be driven". This does not mean, going around and drag racing every punk kid in a civic hatch just because you can. It doesn't mean revving it in neutral and slamming it into drive. It does not mean trying to drift it around the parking lot of your local grocery store, and it certainly doesn't mean cruising down the highway with the CC set at 160.

"Just a GTR" ?

What exactly is your definition of an impressive car then, since you must have incredibly high standards.
Ferarri f430, Older Skylines (better IMO), Corvette Zr1 etc.. I'm just not a fan of the new GT-R's they look "ok" to me, a little too futuristic in some areas for my liking at the moment. May grow on me who knows. And for that price I'd rather buy something else. Something more practical.

x2, seems like Nissan is a bit worried.
