I've been looking around and cant seem to make up my mind, what would be a good stretch for rims that are 17x8 and 17x9?

You could've just asked on the Wheel Fitment thread..

And be more specific about your car. How low are you, camber specs, fender/bumper mods?

205/... 30, 35,40,45?

Lolz at 30 or 35. It'll look like rubberbands.

215/40 or 215/45.

go with 9's though. Or 10 :aznrun:

Edit: I have 215/40

Wheel = rim + tire

Even a 40 sidewall looks small to me on 17's. I think most people do 45. Or 50.

Stretching tires has a purpose. It's not for looks, it's to get aggressive fitments to tuck into the wheel well. That being said, a 205 on a 9" rim is completely unnecessary. Run a 215/45 and it will look perfect.
