so i got my car about 2 yrs ago. first thing i did was get new tires as they were the original tires yes i said original tires. i got my car with 36k . its a 98. anyways i got my hands on TL rims from my uncle. so i obv had to go up a size in tires so i got 215/45/17 tires to go on my rims. now about 18k later my tires are shouldering like crazy so bad that the nylon is showing. the first thing i do when i noticed the nylon was go get an alignment check it was perfect since i get my alignments regularly so i go to costco and they tell me the tires weren't wide enough for the rims which is causing my shoulder problem. they said also a camber kit could help but regardless i need new tires so now im getting 225/50/17. (i wanted a taller tire to eat the gap between the tire and the fender) so now with these tires they say a camber kit is not a necessity. but i do want to lower the car in the near future with f&f type 1 but since im out $600 from the new tires. ill prob have the money in about a month. so my question is finally with the new coils would i need a camber kit so my tires can actually last what they are supposed to?

whats wrong with those tires? i mean when i took it to honda cuz thats where i get my alignments they checked what it couldve been and didnt say anything. plus the car only has 56k on it i dont drive aggressive neither did the 1st owner which was an old lady. so im guessing they are good.

too tall. and theyll rub so bad if you lower it.

what tires are wearing? they may have a low tread wear rating

michellin. they are shouldering so the outsides. no at costco i know the people so they basically told me that rims were too wide. so your saying 225/ 45 would be better? i mean im not slamming it btw. low enough that it looks good and dont have to worry about scraping

If the outside of the tires were wearing badly it has nothing to do with camber. Unless you have positive camber.. which is doubtful. Outside wear is usually a tell tell sign that your toe is out. But if your alignment is good like you say it is, then it could be a number of things.. idk maybe you're doing too many burnouts

stupid question: you're keeping the right psi in these tires right? wear on both sides of the tread can be from under inflation.

no yea there good. i thought it couldve been that too under inflation shoulder. over inflation wear the middle but no the pressure was good too.

Check your tie rods. If they are worn out you won't keep alignment

i checked it that day it was perfect. my alignments im talkign about.
