Whine from amplified speakers

I just finished installing another amp (one under each seat) to power my 6x9s and 6.5" components later on when I buy them.

Everything is good until I start the car. When the key is in stage 'I' (whereby radio can be on/off) the sound is great, no problems. But when I switch the key to 'II' the 6x9 speakers start making a constant buzzing noise that is not dependent on the volume of the music. When I start the car, there is a whine coming from the 6x9s .. And for some weird (idk maybe cool) reason it makes a whining noise which will raise in pitch as I apply throttle .. (And no, I did not drive around pretending I have a supercharger LOL. Car has remained in the garage).

I have tried disconnecting the power cable that powered my monoblock amp that powers my sub, and running only the 4ch amp but it still whines when I start the car.

Power cables are running down each side of the car and RCA/remote signal are running down under the centre console .

Help please ! :)

I believe if you do the big three upgrade it will stop. Also try moving thw ground for the amp

Thanks Richard ! Went through it briefly but couldn't get a definite result.

Following the steps under "Alternator whine" .. I found out that ...

- Unplugged my rca cables and there was no whine. But when I plug in the rca cables the whine starts. (this is with everything else still plugged in and car running)

- However, when the speaker wires are disconnected there is no whining sound.. (with everything plugged in, car started)

- No whining whatsoever with car off (radio can be on or off though.) I can listen to music as normal at this stage. Hits hard and loud.. until .. ->

- Low whining volume when car is in ignition but not started

- The dumb alternator whine when car is running .

Is it really the ground if the music still plays great with the car off, but makes a whining noise when the car is on ?

Yeah probably a ground... Did you ground it to the seat bracket?

Nope, my monoblock amp is grounded to a bolt that holds the centre console down on the chassis and works fine so I did the same on the other side of the centre console for my 4ch amp and it worked fine, but gives me that whine. I moved the ground to the seat belt bolt (under the carpet, beneath that side pillar) to try and it just gives me the same result.

It usually means a grounding issue, or you have your power/ground wire running on the same/wrong sides of the car.

Np, Alex. Having this noise is pretty common after installing amps, so I also think it's the grounding issue. The noise also occurs if you have too much wirings concentrated in one location.
