I've been lurking around the forum for a while and finally decided to create an account.
I want to replace my front speakers, delete my rear speakers and add a modest subwoofer in my car.
In my old car I had Alpine Type S speakers all around with a 12" Boston Acoustic BA G212-44 and that's just about all I've ever done with Car audio.

I currently have an Alpine CDA-9885 as my headunit.
I was thinking about replacing my front speakers with a set of Hifonics ZXi6.5C
and for the subwoofer I was thinking either the Jl Audio 12WX-4 or the Hifonics HFi12D4..
for the Amp I wanted to keep it tidy and have a 4 channel amp powering everything.

I drive an V6 02 coupe.
I was thinking in the range of about 250 for everything.

What are your opinions?

That should work good, though I've never heard the HiFonics speakers. Long ago and far away I used some series VII HiFonics amps, an Odin and a Zeus. Lots of good old fashioned power! Just remember that the install matters nearly as much as the equipment,

When you delete the rear you'll loose a lot of sound. Just 1 pair of speakers up front for the entire cabin may not be loud enough. I'm running a front image system (no rear speakers). I added kick panels to add more speakers upfront. Problem with that is your cost will go up. You will need to add the kick panels, another set of speakers, another amp for bass. You can always go with your idea and add on later if you're not satisfied. I say go for it.

ya its all ebay now... only drawback is they are so hard to tune though..

Huh? As a long time SQ competitor I've never heard anyone that stated one brand of drivers were easier or harder than another brand. Tuning is only hard if you don't have the equipment, ears or time to do it properly. When I used ID's I thought that they sounded good with very little effort and great with some time. Eric Stevens will tell you that tuning takes time, no matter what brand you use.
