Honda suggest the bottom... I did a J thru the top and made it safely without damaging the engine bay. You are swapping an F, its a skinner engine. I would just remove the hood, radiator, air intake, battery and unplug and lift thru the top. Thats just my opinion. If you have access to a shop bottom is fine, if its in your own garage top is easiest.
Hi FNCONE, I'm slowly gathering up all the components to having my F23A1 replaced with a F23A (JDM). In your honest opinion, which way do you recommend removing the engine, through the top or the bottom, and what are the good and bad of each option? I have access to a cherry picker with a leveler and also a floor jack that can lift up to 24''. I've done VW's in the past through the top with ease, but the Honda Service manual states to have the engine removed from the bottom. My initial plan is to clear out as much as possible in the engine bay (moving stuff out of the way, and removing the radiator), then lifting it from the top. It looks tight and I don't want to thrash the engine bay. Thanks in advance for any input! - Slowfinger
I haven't forgot about you, I almost found them today. They beat me to it. they took the tranny and seats DAMN!!!

Hey Dude, I have a question for your regarding 98 honda accord 5speed swap. To bypass the neutral safety switch, what color wires do I splice and where are they located ?
Been seeing your car parked on the 2nd floor at the end of the ramp haha we should kick it sometimes!
thanks for your help bud, i ordered that harness, and it now on its way!...t-knight says hes going to sell me the dashboard harnesses, so if he comes through, i will be getting at the car in a week or so.
Hey 6sp98, Quick question for anyone who can answer. I recently did a swap on my 98 accord to a manual tranmission. I already reprogrammed the keys, now I am having a security issue with the neutral safety switch. Worst case, I will get a new manual harness. But I am hoping someone can coach me on how to bypass the neutral safety switch. Please help ! Car has been sitting for a very long time due to me not having time to work on it. Now I do, so I am hoping I can get it running . . .
