Its not live the f23 is anything special, its just a big d series. All someone would need to do is do an OBDI conversion. Its exactly like running a chipped ECU, but better.

Well my thinking was i could switch to EMS when i do my tranny swap to avoid ecu issiues and immbolizers and all that crap? Leave it in there and when i go to get smogged just plug back in the stock auto ecu with the little gliches itll have from being a manual strip the turbo and i will be just fine?

If im not mistaken hondata and odb1 is a prety permanent solution compared to ems??

Also ive been researching a bit more, and im thinking of going with a DSM g14 or g16 turbo there fairly cheap brand new and small with good spool times, seems like a winner if i only want 50 maybe eventually 75 hp of boost? Just not to sure about what kind of parts can be had out there to bol up to are cars and g flanges.

Honestly Im going to be swapping the tranny first!! so i need to figure out what will be best as far as ECU goes. I dont want to deal with my car being towed 30 miles to the dealership and them reprogramming a manual ecu. I saw a place on ebay doing ecu's pre programmed with your vin suppose to be plug and play for 250. This was my first line of thinking but now im thinking the EMS would maybe just go well with the tranny swap and then i could get the auto ecu working although not perfect with the manual and use that for smog. I dont know which is the best route, it may be odb1 but ive always though that once you go odb1 its alot of work and semi permanent not a quick easy plug back in the old odb2 system?

Im also still leaning twords buying a new bottom end and doing an na build and just doing a motor swap every two years. But honestly i dont think the price is worth it. It seems as though i can do a stage one cam get my head flowing better and boost for alot cheaper, with alot more potential for growth. My thinking after looking at g16s is i can probably build a turbo kit for around 800 bucks or so maybe a lil more. The g16 is only 250!! and seems like what i want for now. Just need to be able to revert back to emmisions friendly in the corse of two days. Wich breaking down the turbo and swapping ecus sounds doable.

I also continplated on turbo kits.com kit minus the FMU for 400 and then just doing whatever i decide or someone shows me would be a could idea for engine managment which meets my being able to revert to stock easy criteria.

As for injectors if i need em ill just get an aem fuel rail throw the new ones in it swap it back and forth with the rest of the build.

For emissions testing, I dont think they check under the hood. They just plug their **** into your OBD2 port, just open the wastegate so you dont boost while you have the stock ecu in.

oh ya CA sucks i have a friend who owns a shop always passed with no CARB bs under the hood its about 45 miles from my houes. Well i just got smoged and this time had to drive back home to put my stock air box on. They told me the cops are doing crack downs and checkpoints on people just being smoged.

I acually found somthing called an STS turbo kit wich bolts on right before your catback! talk about stealth suppose to be a four hour setup and break down. Im gonna contact them for more info. But if you ever gotta lift you good the only thing theyll see is intercooler pipe going to the TB, hahaha stuff it through the sock air box even more stealth!!

But honestly ive been looking i dont thin theres anyway to bolt up a DSM turbo to an f23 exhaust manifold without having something made. O well

huh, i was kidding about the sts kit, seems to me like having your turbo under your car is a really dumbass idea especially when we have huge engine bays.

In all honesty though I want a really small fast spooling turbo tha will be pretty usable up to 6000 rpm. Not to concerned with a huge horse pusher but a fast spooler. Im having a hell of a time finding any manifold that bolts up to anything besides t3/t4. Any advice about geting around this?
