Re: Russianred's Turbo Build Thread! *UPDATED 11/16/11*

Always! And yes - it's out and everything is taken care of. Now just to pack the car on a transport trailer and off to Maine...

Had to tough out removing and dissecting the whole engine with just hand tools from my small toolbox haha. Works wonders as long as the operator knows what they are doing! Managed to get it all done without an engine lift too, wasn't as bad as I thought just a little time consuming.

Here are some pics of the removal, dropped it out through the bottom - very carefully using two jacks haha.

The only 'power' tool I used, though didn't use this to torque anything down, just get the bolts down there.

My friend Mike who helped me out a bunch with the project chillen in the bay:

Quick question - I am saving my original block with the original VIN on it to use as the racing block when i get to it, the only imperfection is this oil pan stud:

It's supposed to not be broken off and look like this opposite one:

So the question is - are these studs that can be taken out and replaced, or if that one's broken off the whole thing is f*cked? I had no leaking issues before even with it broken, I just didn't tighten down that one nut, but when I have the block sleeved and perfected etc, I don't want to have that one little thing causing a potential problem. Anyone know?

I would use an EZ-out and reverse that stud.

I second that one, better safe than sorry, plus its easy to get to now!

Looks good that your making some progress Nikita, keep plugging away after you get moved and settled at your place!

Just a little new random something..

Wheels..

Traded my 15"s for these 16"s. Both were 5-spokes. Figured these would be a nicer winter set for the future.
