^ I think so Alex, I think so! you already have though with upping your boost!

The guy who had this mani had it for 8 months and 5k miles no issues, so I'm not too worried. I am porting it a little wherever I can, and reinforcing the support bracket underneath there, maybe welding another one on as well.

Wanting to do some touch-up on this new manifold. What do you guys think? The flange is ported perfectly to accept the new turbo, but my concern is about turbulence in the collector. Look at the following pics, would it be worth it to trim down the extra metal hanging off there? A few of the runners do not stick out past the weld, and a few of them do. Ideas?

Also got one of these EGR Blockoff Plates recently:

As well as an IAT temp gauge, an Auto Meter Pyrometer, and a turbo blanket (though I prefer a shiny heat shield like the one Money Pit made). A few other things too which are secret goodies for the time being.

In the market for a Complete Manual Engine Harness.. Depending on the price.

Regarding the manifold, I want those bottom runners to sit flush in there with a rounded edge like the top ones, and not stick out. I will also round off the top runner edges a bit to promote flow by decreasing turbulence, but without compromising any integrity. The welds are on the outside of the runners anyways so I don't think I will have any issues. I will post after pics once I am finished.

Nikita,

I would say at the very least trim off the excess flange at the collector, due to it may causing some turbulence in the air flow into the manifold if your going to do it yourself. Even if you don't trim it down, honestly it's not going to make that big of a difference anyway, it's just if you want to do it.

It shouldn't hurt the integrity of the manifold either way, but may help the air flow slightly if your up to it. Seeing a sneak peek of the welds seems to be a decent manifold for $100, nice find.

Looks like you are making some good progress. Keep it up!

Thanks Devin!

I am also going to taper the flange from the inside a little bit so that the air flow is more concentrated to go out the flange, reducing turbulence.

Oh one more thing, do you guys know if it's possible to unbolt the intake housing on the turbo, and change the angle at which it faces so that the charge pipe would connect properly after it's bolted onto the exhaust manifold? Is it as easy as unbolting the housing and re-bolting in a position at a different angle or is there more to it?
