Thanks man! More or less yeah, and the experience I got from it was invaluable.

I'd like to thank 6thgenaccord for the inspiration and the love, all it's members, and I'd particularly like to thank Erik (Erik123456789), Brandon (Finch13), Devin (Hotaccord243) and Nate (mraw112). Thank you guys for your help when I needed it on the spot, and I gotta say I could not have done this without you.

Also, want to thank my dad who kept me sane and was there to keep me from throwing a molotov at my car when I wanted to the most. As well as my friend Stu who came down to chill before I left for Oklahoma. He's not really into cars, but he was there for most of it, and he helped me get through some tough spots as well.

R&L Engines in Dover, NH also deserves credit as they are the ones who resurfaced, variously tested, and cleaned my head.

I cannot forget Archie's Offroad & Performance. Archie and I spent about an hour perusing catalogs making sure the fittings would be correct for my oil gauge setup, which as aforementioned turned out to be more complicated than I wanted it to be.

Now, going to go and drive around a bit, to break that head gasket in!

:peace:

You certainly don't look like what I pictured you to look like  (I pictured a bearded dude with a furry hat) Congrats on getting the beastie running so smoothly, hope the long drive allows for a bit of stretching of the cars legs!!
Whats goin to happen with the VW Project now that you're goin so far away??

Haha well, this week I have become a scruffy dude with a furry head. I need a shave and a haircut LOL.

There is a very large Russian population / community in New Zealand I know, do you see a lot of bearded Russians wearing one of these?

Or does it not get cold enough for one there :)

Thanks man, the car runs smooth like fresh butter. Already 55+ miles on it since I finished! Car may be stretching her legs, but I definitely won't be, I guarantee driving 12-14hrs a day haha!

What's going to happen to the Golf.. Probably going to sit till I return to Maine, or my dad's going to fix the issue with it and use it as a daily (most probable scenario). My theory about it is that the solenoid/valve that controls fuel return to the tank (from the fuel distributor) is malfunctioning, and without the fuel return the engine floods, as evidenced by progressively wet spark plugs, with respective failure of the car to stay running.

One of my mates went to Siberia to assemble huge excavators, and they all looked scruffy with furry hats up there.
(They flew a 300 Tonne Excavator there in an Antonov - I have pics of them unloading it)
Oh and they ride these funny looking motorised trikes with huge tube tyres..... crazy place by the looks of it!! He said the woman were very welcoming..... but the Vodka was lethal.:lolhitting:
