I remember your thread about having Innovative make the mounts using OEM mounts as the basis. Thanks for the effort; that's the thread that got me interested in these mounts. They don't really use a car - I gave them brand new OE Honda mounts and I installed the prototypes in before the final ones were made on my car. They visually looked at the mounts installed and asked if I had any issues putting them in. The one we had the hardest time with was the one in front of the motor (timing belt side). They fit tight, you'll have to loosen all the mounts to get them to ling up and tighten properly - if you're just trying to do one at a time, it may be too difficult. Good luck!
The location of the holes relative to each other seemed spot on when compared to the OE mount (speaking in terms of location and relative elevation); the problem is that the flange on the top of the passenger mount (with the single hole) doesn't match the contour of the underlying body panel. As a result, the mount does not fit flush against the car. Considering the design of the driver's side mount appears to have changed from the original, I'm wondering if they changed something on this one which resulted in the mount no longer fitting flush...or do they simply not fit flush? (I would hope this isn't the case considering the price!).
The flange on the mount strikes the body panel (circled in red):
As a result, the top bolt hole is not lined up:
Even when the bottom bolts line up fine:
I realize the bottom bolts are in almost all the way; I only did that to illustrate the natural position of the top bolt/flange. There is not much play in the bottom bolt holes. They pretty much line up. Even when bolts were loose, it was not possible to get all three bolts to engage due to the interference with the body panel.
Is the gap on the top bolt "normal"? I would have thought they'd be made to fit flush. Thanks!
