Re: 5 Speed Swap ( Maybe )

Garage is waiting for my car today, MORE delays..

Blew a tire on the Corolla, trying to go back to my garage to gather up more parts for it, So I gotta get a new tire for the Corolla.

Then I was trying hard to get a tow truck company to pick up my car in the city w/o me being there. Finally was able to find one, told them my car is unlocked, and ebrake on.

Was able to get my room mates to put my car on the street for me.

Just been a ****ty day. I hope that mom BF was able to get a new tire and rim. He had to put special winter tires on...BOOOO at lease its under warrenty...

Re: 5 Speed Swap ( Maybe )

So update..Car runs fine after sitting for 2 months in the snow.

I ordered from a 97-01 Prelude the shifter assembly and got pedals pulled from same Gen for the swap. Friday my friend Chris should be down with my Turbo Kit with my chipped P28 ECU that I'll send out to get a new base map burnt, since its got the turbo one burnt.

SO Hopefully by the end of the month the car be ready to go...

Re: 5 Speed Swap ( Maybe )

Took forever but the car finally in the Bay, we removed the AUTO shifter assembly, removed the auto pedals, drilled the holes for the clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder, just need to cut the big hole for the master, Installed the 5 speed shifter assembly. Hood is off, exhaust/header unbolted other stuff for the big day. Tomorrow we are pulling the motor and tranny. Should be picking at it over the weekend but she should be 5 speed soon.

Whoa! Pulling the motor?? Unnecessary but it would definitely make installing the master cylinder and clutch line alot easier.

Good luck with the swap.

Re: 5 Speed Swap ( In Progress Finally)

Car gonna be in the Bay for a few days so allows me to clean up the engine bay a bit.

We just find its easier to pull the motor and work on it. Bolted the F22 MT tranny onto the F23, Installed the lightweight flywheel, pressure plate and clutch and a new throw out bearing, We ran into problems I got the wrong brackets oh well. Might know where I can get some tomorrow. But allows me to work on my car more and more since its not outside anymore. if I cannot get the parts tomorrow, Im SOL till Thursday when the dealership said they might be able to get the parts required in.

While the engine was out, I fixed the rad support, installed new sway bar end links, put new rotors on since I warped the other ones. Drilled the hole for the master cylinder, installed that but I need to pick up some washer to space it out.

Tomorrow I may finish installing the pedals and shifter cables.

Haha nice dude, good luck! Looks like we're both doing swaps at the same time. Yours should be done sooner though. I'm not looking at completion till sometime in next week :(
