Small update tonight. Installed the oil and water pumps.
Also received the crank pulley holder, copper gasket spray, and form-a-gasket fuel safe sealant that I ordered to replace the teflon tape on the fuel rail fitting. I <3 Amazon Prime shipping.

man your engine build is soo legit! Your doing it right and absolutely not cutting corner's. your gonna make serious power and have a reliable motor. Some slicks and a nice tune, gonna be hitting 10's or 11's.

No way!! haha Not with the weight and lack of suspension on this car. Realistically, I'd love to touch 400 at the wheels, and see somewhere around 12.5 second quarter-mile. Remember I'm still limited by stock sleeves, poor gearing, and sheer weight.

Today's project: venting the valve cover.
I've drilled out the rivets holding the baffle cover in place from an old valve cover to have a look see at the baffles. There is a lot more to the baffling than I expected! It looks like I might want to drill out the cover in my good VC to ensure I get a good tap and to clean out all the shavings well. I gave Greg a call at Go-Auto to ask about this and he confirmed its a good plan. Pics to come!
In the mean time, I'm looking to order a cam in the next week. What are some good options available for the SOHC F? I'm also thinking now that the stock head is likely going to be my biggest restriction in the build. I'd be happy if I could get some mild port work done and a cam for $1k or less. Any suggestions?

This project is lookin beast! Post pics of the baffling removed from the valve cover. Curious to see how it looks without it . Also are you welding the manifold yourself....or having a shop do it?

Drilled out the rivets:
Pop the baffle loose:
What lies beneath:
Clean it up a bit and tap holes in the stantions you just drilled:
Removed some obstructions allowing me to drill pilot holes for the AN fittings:
Reassembled until I can get larger holes drilled and get the fittings welded in:
Ready for drilling and welding:
New nuts.
