I live in Socal, and i don't really sell much. but yeah i can say the reason we prefer local pick up is because its quicker and cash in hand, plus get to meet local car enthusiasts. shipping is a bit more a pain. I mean i personally would ship cuz like to help out people. but i would have to ask for cash first that way i wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for your shipping.

If you think I'm talking to you specifically and saying fck all SoCal members, I'm not. Feel free to though with that attitude. We ARE a community after all. With comments like that people would think otherwise. This isn't ****ing Honda-Tech.

How would you feel if vendors decided that they wouldn't do shipping for their new products, or an item wasn't in stock at one dealer/shop, but was at another, and said "Sorry no shipping, local pickup only"? I'm sure they wouldn't do too well, and I'm sure that people wouldn't like it too much either.

I don't disagree with you, I prefer local sales too. Cash in hand is always good. There are people who get jumped for their **** too (lol), god forbid that happens to anyone.

Shipping is simple, you make it seem so damn hard. Get an envelope (remember those?), put decal in it/get a flat rate box at the post office, get some newspaper/scrap paper, pack the item(s) inside, seal w/some tape and give it to the clerk.

And as for paying out of pocket, that's why you charge extra for shipping before you ship (obviously lol). Charge a few more even, who cares lol.

+1, SoCal guys need to stop being lazy and offer shipping. You guys live in your own world with your own "spotted" thread and ****. Good for you, but is there any reason other than laziness when it comes to not offering shipping or do you just not trust other forum members outside of your realm?

This.

And yes, the parts are theirs, they can do what they want. It's just frustrating. Why refuse a sale/money?

^Didn't say it was a problem.

be like it is
shipping is wayyyyyyyyy preferred to meeting...at least for me. trying to coordinate schedules, meeting places, people wanting me to drive 30 miles each way to them, saying they'll take something then backing out, etc...ugh.

tell me you want it, i go online (since i'm already online :lawl: ) to get a shipping quote, you pay, i package, then drop it off/have it picked up...done.

only things i wont ship is if they're ridiculously shaped and i dont have a box. like people getting a lip thats a bunch of envelopes taped together...uhhh...no.
