Well, The time has come for me to find a winter project. And It will be my retro.

HOWEVER,

I see alot of people do the MH1 over the D2S, But the D2s has better output.

Any tips you have for installing either one into our OEM housings?
I havent decided, but I'd like to go D2s for the output. I've noticed some trim shrouds some trim the housing at the front for perfect fitment, I don't mind a little bit of work to the bulb holder for the slight size difference, Did anyone use shroud centric rings? or did you use screws epoxy? ,Is there a reason you chose one over the other? What types of paint did you use for the housing. This thread i'd like to use as a Mini d2s, Vs H1 considerably cause they're almost the same, and I can't seem to find answers for it.

Thanks ahead of time.

MH1 fits in your housing with no cutting needed at all.
D2S ver. will require cutting of your reflector bucket to fit...just like TSX/TL/S2k require cutting
Shroud centering rings are optional...most have used small screw and/or Automotive Goop(not JBWeld as it cracks with age)
Paint should be something that is heat resistant if you're painting the projector body itself or the shroud. If painting the housing only any paint should work with no issues (using heat resistant paint for all of it can only add benefits)

The D2S is shorter though isnt it?>

I don't mind some shaving for the threaded shaft.

From what I've seen installing MH1's is straightforward (plug and play), other than maybe a little bit of shaving on the housing.

I want some MH1's already. Halogen fucking sucks..
