Been a while since I posted some pics of this car.. I remember my old man told me once: "Operating automobiles originally meant to be MT back in the day. It was until someone in a military came up with this brilliant idea of getting crippled soldiers to be able to drive their vehicles on duty.." Well, AT is becoming today's standard, but I guess it was for disabled people in the beginning.

Old soul wasn't wrong.. The issue is that people are crippled AF now anyways, so they are crutched the fu out on different aids and technology. Severe brain rot. Nice build, coming along great!

What's the fix for the trunk leak? Replacing the rubber/foam molding that lines the whole trunk opening? Also maybe check around the trunk floor for the rubber caps sealing the holes so no water gets in that way.

When the rear wheel bearings were going bad in my Accord, it was a low hum noise. Was barely audible since I have a full exhaust, but after driving the car 13 years my ear was trained for what noises were normal and which weren't haha.
Yeah, something like that haha. I'm just gonna leave a couple of catch cans, since it won't get fixed up lol.

I used to hear those noise from my Accord, but this one sounds a bit different. If it's really from the wheel bearing, maybe it's sounding differently b/c of the difference in design. I heard, when it's shot, it shouldn't be driven for more than 1000 mi. My mechanic said it's getting noticeable, so I'm guessing that would be it. My Accord could be one of the most quiet ones in the CG game, so I can catch odd noises super early.;) Hopefully, it's really happening from the wheel bearing, something not so major in order to run.

I hear ya. Every new technology make people spoiled in one way or another. I got so used to type words electronically, I hardly write things with my hand anymore. My hand writing is so bad now, it looks like a 10 year old's lol. Used to think all new car features aren't so necessary, but I could use a backup camera, when I get a freshly painted rear bumper cover haha. Thanks! Please stay tuned!:burnout:

J37 I.M., CAI, T.B. cleaning, and valve clearance adjustment coming up next, hopefully within a couple of weeks. Might be able to resolve some of these 12 monkeys noted below, but we'll see. :coffee:

Remarks: Updated:12/03/2020
  1. -Rear right brake- Scratching sound when the wheel rotates. Either the parking brake or the pad.
  2. -Oil pressure Switch- The area is leaking but I need to double check on this again.
  3. -Cabin Air Filters- Pretty sure they're nasty AF.
  4. -SRS Air Bag Service Recall- Need to visit the dealership before the swap happens.
  5. -L. Headlight wiring- It's not turning on, and it keeps blowing out the fuse. Makes me want to replace the whole wire harnesses now haha.
  6. -Fuel injection- When it fires up at a start, it ignites fine but the fuel sounds like it isn't getting injected / pumped out effectively. Got the fuel injector relay replaced very recently but I feel like the fuel pump is due soon. Accord is doing a similar thing on a rare occasion, but if it's really the fuel pump, I'll hold on to this, since the pumps aren't interchangeable and not related to the swap. Added the fuel injector cleaner to the tank.
  7. -Spool Valve- Waited until 4800 RPM, but I still can't hear the VTEC kicking in yo. The spool valve housing / the solenoid is probably done. I might leave this as is, and transfer the one from my Accord, when the swap begins, since they're interchangeable.
  8. -P.S. Rack- It's leaking but I'll ignore this since it's not a swap-related issue.
  9. -Passenger's side seat- It isn't reclining lol. Gave a little search up in Azine, and it turned out to be a very common issue for these particular seats, due to corrosions / rusts on the gear. That's how it gets stuck, and why it doesn't move. It supposedly can be fixed by re-greasing the gear and forcing it to turn 'n click again with a use of a flat screw driver.
  10. -Audio Head Unit- The Bose radio works nice, but the compact disc playa is not in the game. I might buy a used oem head unit from eBay, since getting it fixed by the dealership will be in a higher price.
  11. -Trunk/Q.P. water leakage- Checked the spare tire enclosure, and there was a glass full of rain water underneath the tire lol! Traced the wet zones, and it was dripping from the side of the trunk panel. Would have not discovered this, if it wasn't parked outside. Gonna leave a couple of catch cans, since it won't get fixed up lol.
  12. -Wheel Bearing hub(?)- Noticed some obvious noise, which seems to be somewhat suspension related.

Updated 2021! Welcome to my CL's thread. :)

Got this car as a donor car for my Accord to do the 6-6 swap. Was trying to get the engine & MT by itself gutted out, but since this vendor was taking forever to sell me one, I found this running J32 6MT with wheels on instead, with a surprisingly good vehicle history, though it's relatively a high mileage car.

Hey nice info. I'm doing the 6mt swap in a few months, I was thinking j30a1 block/j35 top end, 7gen atc6, and the TypeS LSD. Do you think I should just buy a donor CL-S like yourself and keep engine/manny together? I'm trying to keep it under $1,200.

F*cking beautiful coupe btw.

I've heard there's a higher chance of getting some obstacles, when you play the swap game with different parts combo from different sources. It seems like the safest way is to get a donor car like me, and extract them from a single car to avoid any conflicts. GL with the swap game! And, thanks for the love!

A few updates to report some progress. The rear wheel bearings and hubs were done, so I had to get them new. Front ones, knock on woods lol! Got the J37 I.M. installed along with the valve clearance adjustments. New front valve cover + engine cover stay bracket as well, and the motor is looking a bit shiner this time again! Currently, the air intake temperature sensor is stuck out bare naked by a zip tie from the original J32 I.M., as well as the 2-pin air temperature sensor plug from the J37 I.M. in the bay, but those will be taken care later, when the swap begins. The oil pan was leaking oil, so I got that resealed as well. Got some further vehicle inspections at one of my favorite motorsport performance shops, and received some additional remarks on the vehicle. Half of the stuff I got isn't really swap-related, but I'm adding these to the remark section below: (More stuff to take care lol.) The car is now at the Acura dealer to get the airbag service recall + some fluid change done. Turns out that my airbag needs a replacement! The J37 I.M. lower gasket, didn't fit exactly on the J32. Ended up keeping the original J32 gasket instead, and it was a perfect fit. I'll need to update my old parts list for the J37 I.M. swap. Have been working on the trunk flood issue, and I finally tracked down the leaking area. Filled out the trunk's rain gutter with some Flexi Glue. The left side stopped leaking, but the right side didn't, so I added some silicone sealant by the window frame. Couldn't confirm the result, b/c the car's gone for the service recall, but we'll see what happens.

EDIT: Still leaking lol. Gears are shifting a lot softer now! Gave a little search on Azine, and it seems like it's the bottom rea window seal. I did put some silicone, but I figured that wasn't just enough.

Updated the list! Still playing the silicone game to sort out the right side of the trunk leakage. She is wearing a used set of tires from the Accord now. The rear tires were in a poor shape, due to the recent tire rotation (ones that came with the car) and recently there was a screw stuck on each of the nearly new front tires lol. Both of them were not really punctured to the back side, so I kept them as a spare set, or sell them for cheap.

The silicone game is over! The leaking is completely stopped, even after parked outside for a couple of days under heavy rain. Ended up caulking the whole rear window weatherstrip & the roof rails + the water pathway trunk cargo weatherstrip a few times. No more moldy cargo from now!

Awesome work! Nothing like crossing off an annoying problem off the list.

How long do you plan on driving the CL for? I finally caved and ordered upper and lower control arms for mine to get it aligned since I plan on driving it for the next year or so.
