I finally finished my retrofit this morning at 1:40AM and here is the final result.

Parts List:
-Morimoto Mini H1 (Mini Gatling Gun Shrouds)
-Philips 6000K H1 Rebase
-DDM Tuning 35W HID Ballast
-White 12" CCFL Bar
-Switchback LED Strips and bulbs

That's right! No inverter.

Switch Back LEDs:

The color is a bit off, but in person it's a perfect white.

Update 11/24/2011
This is my most recent addition to the project. The LEDs are hooked up to a infinitely variable RGB LED color mixer so I can hit any color I want.

Came down to .3mm for the relay to fit in the enclosure.

Looks interesting, keep us posted with updates. I've always wanted to get switchback turn signal bulbs.

This looks very interesting. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

And btw, you can just take the amber strip out if you can't find a clear one, and just have no strip. But a clear one would probably look a lot cleaner, though.
