if you have OEM rotors, it'll prob cost you the same (maybe even more) to get them machined...

If you dont replace the rotors soon, your brakes will begin to wear quickly. In order to be smart and save the most money, you should just put on new rotors, otherwise youre gonna have to replace everything.

I am actually having the same problem right now, had I known, I would have just swapped the rotors when I did my pads a few weeks ago.

yup that's your rotor's mine are the same way have been for a while, I usually just down shift while braking so I don't put much pressure on them and that keeps the vibration down. I'm going to put mine on the brake lathe at school to fix my problem you could try that but like everyone said you can probably pick new ones up for just a little more then you'd pay to have them turned.

I say rotors as well, I have a little bit of that going on myself - need to replace rotors soon. Where in Maine are you from? I was just there, my father lives in Wells.

just replace the rotors and pads while your at it.
it'll take you some effort to take off both rotors and brake caliper. so might as well replace them. they do wear over time. i replaced both front rotors and pads for $98 at o'reilly.

I'm from NJ but go to school in Orono...
I'm thinking I am just going to change them and with a student discount thats not bad. Since it is only the front 2 and the pads are relatively new I think I'll be ok just doing that but keeping it around $100 will be nice compared to doing new pads and lines too.

I had the same exact problem and the steering wheel-shake got annoying especially having to commute 60 miles a day to school. Also, my brakes were squeeking pretty loud too so a couple months back, I got my rotors resurfaced and got brand new brake pads (Wagner ThermoQuiets). I went easy on the brakes for the first 2 weeks to prevent the rotors from "warping" and it never shaked again and it's quiet now **knock on wood** lol
Hopefully the rotors will last for a while..

hmm i guess i should go ahead and buy new rotors then.
how do you know if its the front or rear that need to be replaced tho? my steering wheel has started shaking badly when slowing down from 70-80 and when braking slowing to a stop light it feels like the brake grabs, releases a little and repeats. do i just assume its the front rotors sense they do most of the work anyways?
