I can guarantee you they were NOT ****ty speakers lol, and I believe it has been discussed on here how the vibrations from the bass can affect the rear speakers.

you need to get a crossover to take the most of the bass out of your components to maximize your HIGHS and LOWS to make you have 0000 distortion! my Alpine HU has a fully customizable crossover that i have learned how to use to make fronts operating at around 160hz and mids and rears at 100hz (off the top of my head) this and my JL w7 starts at 31.5hz which is what my ported box is tuned to. so i can turn my radio all the way up and its clear as day...you need to get you somekind of crossover!:nutswinger:

nice setup bro! not a huge fan of pioneer speakers im a alpine fan myself but pioneers can be persuaded to sound good too! =]

nice write up on the crossover! there is defiantly no way his L5 is putting out more than your w7 and im sure your by9's dont distort at all.. its all about tuning i only have a type r 10 550 RMS and mine dont do that **** haha and im sure your system will put mine to shame! lol

Forgot to add my headunit as well..

Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD

as for the rear speaker distortion, it wasn't so noticeable to any one else who has no clue what car audio is. As for my father and I, we heard it... The speakers are still in the basket just not plugged in. It really doesn't bug me at all, the difference between having and not having them is very slight.

i have a amp but ive never heard of
ma audio
no offense but that receiver is a piece of.... lol 17 watt RMS X 4? haha joke! now i know you wont be using it that way u will be using it with a amp but if the internal amp is crap.. then most likely the rest is crap.. lol ive never liked sony anything car audio related

heres where i would go if your looking for a regular deck not a nav or dvd..

Factory refurb

MA audio isnt complete crap.. i would run it and see how it sounds... if it sounds like crap then replace it!

if you do replace it id go with (if your on a strict budget)

if you have some dough to play with id go for
