I can guarantee you they were NOT ****ty speakers lol, and I believe it has been discussed on here how the vibrations from the bass can affect the rear speakers.
i got Alpine-9885 headunit - built in crossover, tuned by me NICE!
pioneer 3 way 6.5 in front
pioneer 3 way 6x9 in the rear

no offense but that receiver is a piece of.... lol 17 watt RMS X 4? haha joke! now i know you wont be using it that way u will be using it with a amp but if the internal amp is crap.. then most likely the rest is crap.. lol ive never liked sony anything car audio relatedopinions on this reciever

as for the rear speaker distortion, it wasn't so noticeable to any one else who has no clue what car audio is. As for my father and I, we heard it... The speakers are still in the basket just not plugged in. It really doesn't bug me at all, the difference between having and not having them is very slight.
i dont have space for rear speakers lol
