As proof, A Comptech Supercharger will only boost power by 20-30% on a 6th gen accord V6
For $4,000 You'll get 40-60 HP and that's it
For about $1,000 (tops) you get get a NOS wet kit and gain mor power than that
Also, take into consideration, the rebuilding of the tranny.

Hell, you can swap a CL-S motor and tranny for less than $4,000 and have more power

Ok, but A) would a full CL-S motor swap be CARB and Smog Legal in socal? I don't think any engine swap is.

and
B) If I were to do a 6 speed swap, and get a used comptech SC when one pops up for the 1500 that Roy said, would it be worth it? I have a feeling that the 6-speed tranny would help you get more than 40-60 hp... (to the wheels)

A) It'll pass. Zzz

B) 40-60 whp+ with 6 mt on J30A1? LOL! Not a chance

And btw, finding a J32A2 + 6 MT for less than $4,000. Don't make me laugh, unless you find one in a junkyard (LOL good luck on that one btw) and you do the swap yourself, which not many people know HOW to do. And most people are only pushing like 260whp with the CL-S swap anyways, with all mods. Pretty much.. well the same as me with just SC. LOL.

Since when did the cost jump up so much...Engine ~$400-500, transmission and all parts needed ~$1500-2500.

If you dig around enough you'll find some good deals. I kept checking LKQ online until i found a good deal, my engine was within my range above w/60k miles. And as far as the transmission goes, you very well could find one for around $1000 - but its all of the other parts you need for the swap that will run up your bill.

I can't tell you how many junkyards here in Jersey have crashed accords and Acuras

As previously stated you can get the motor & tranny for no more than $2500
And yes you will be smog legal for california
Also you'll have a very reliable set up when compared to boosting a stock 6th gen motor and tranny

Wow this smog legal crap in California makes the law about having front license plates in Ohio not seem so bad! haha But I still will not give in.

Anyway good luck with the swap man.

I'm thinking save your money, and look for something more 'one of a kind' for an engine swap. I know J37 is being done/done, so is J40, if you are thinking long term, then, maybe think about saving up to be one of the few that have the J40 or something like that. It sounds like finding a donor engine isn't too hard in the US(lucky for you all), so if you plan out a long term project, then maybe you can be one of the few with the higher end J-Series swaps done.
