Damn man this is a great build. The motor is coming together nicely. Can't wait to see it finished.

Further Update:

* Cometic Exhaust Manifold Gaskets Installed
* Turbo manifold installed (finally, not just sitting there.... those bottom bolts are a M/F'er to get on correctly)
* BW Turbo installed w/Cometic Gasket
* Installed Front turbo Oil Drain BLOCK (plug)
* Installed Block Coolant feed BLOCK (plug) (Turbo is oil cooled only)
* Sanded the text "RB26" so bare aluminum is showing (no red)
* Installed Iridium Plugs (I broke down and spent the extra $$ for correct plugs... I had some "NGK equivalent" plugs in there (new), but I didn't want to chance it.
* Reinstalled front crankcase baffle
* Repaired broken oil pan bolt (that bolts the oil pan to the block)
* Sanded & painted CAS (crank angle sensor) primer grey, then gloss black. (not pictured)

Yeah, not much done, and a lot of time spent on it. Wasn't as productive as I thought it would be. I still have to finish swapping the trans. bellhousings and pulling the dash out so I can remove the old engine wiring harness. I still have to TUCK the fuseblock in the engine bay too (free, but takes forever).

Oil pan should be headed my way in about a week. The guy doing it has been busy, so its taking him longer than the "usual" 1 week turnaound that he hold me. Meh... oh wells.

This old transmission FILL plug fit perfectly for the old front turbo oil drain. I put a little RTV on the threads to ensure it won't leak (it won't anyway).

I have spent the last two weeks searching all over the internet, East Texas Fasteners, Lowes, etc. for a bolt that's M14 fine thread metric, that's only 15mm long. It finally hit me that an oil pan drain plug fits perfectly. This was the old coolant feed line in the block. Voila! Copper gasket included. Hah.

I parted most of the old drivetrain out (helped pay for parts too!) as there was nothing wrong with it, and had about $15k worth of upgrades done to it. I got about $9000 of that back which helped pay for some of this swap.

EDIT>> And I'm about $16,000 into it so far... I cringed when I saw the total on my excel spreadsheet.

I've been overwhelmed with work lately so I haven't been able to get much done. The custom fabbed oil pan is finished, the custom made exhaust is here, and it's all about ready to drop in and get things weleded up (motor mounts), then back out it comes for painting the engine bay. Yay! Getting there!

PArts-wise, all that's left to get is a clutch, flywheel, and PowerFC D-jetro. (about $3000 of parts...)

Cost wise, it's finally gone north of $20,000.... ugh. :( I should have kept track of the costs, as it sure doesn't seem or feel like I've spent that much on it so far.

EDIT>>> and christmas is just around the corner, so that'll be taking up a lot of my free time as well. (haven't had much free time right now anyway).
