Why: It's easier to pick up chicks in this car than my parents safari van?

ok but for real, i owned two 5th gens before, loved them but had horrible luck, after a couple accidents (none were my fault surprisingly) a few ricey mods and a lot of fail, i decided that i was having bad luck with 5th gens snd had to move on.

I knew i wanted another accord and i've always had a crush on the 6g coupes. so after my last car was totaled i was stuck driving the safari van around while saving money for a new car. one day i was driving from work with no intention of going anywhere but home and to the fridge, i drove past a lot with all kinds of nicer cars all way out of my price range, but something told me to turn in. so i did and drove through the lot. nothing nothing nothing nothing anywhere, then i turned the last corner and tucked away in the back corner of the lot were three 6th gens. A black sedan, silver sedan, and my Bi*ch, all manual. after test drives i decided i loved the coupe the most. but was $300 short. all i can say to that is i love my parents. went home told them what i found, my dad said "do you want to borrow the money?" i said "stupid question dad" we got back in the car and here i am today.

Deep enough?

When .. 03, I traded in a ProCharge'd '99 Mustang...huge mistake.

Why.. I was oblivious to how much Accords end up sucking in the end, and I was mistaken thinking that the aftermarket is strong for it and it's easy to mod.

When: June 2011
Why: I've been driving family cars all my life so never had a car of my own, went off to school and didnt need one. I just moved into a house off campus though so need a way to get around and the family car I drove was dying so I decided to buy a car. Looked around for awhile until I heard about my car in the back of a mechanic shop. Someone else was interested but told him I would pay cash on the spot and a day later I had a new car. Almost a month later I've about got it fixed up to were its in good running order again, so cant wait to start working on it and making it mine.

Why: Had a 99GSR, but got stolen and "surgically stripped", Drove my dad's 84AccordLX, but had a hard time getting it over certain inclines on the freeway. So that's when I decided to spend half on my current accord and save the other half on investments.

Car purchase: April 1998 (Parents), Handed to me September 2006

Why: Parents no longer needed two vehicles as we moved back to our home town, and they purchased a new Odyssey in 05. They said it would be mine when I can drive when I started washing it at 12 years old. I literally remember the day they brought the Accord home, I was 8 years old, and I loved it! I thought having 2 mufflers was so cool lol.

It has been through me and my 2 siblings learning to drive, I had it for 2 years where I modded it did a lot of cruising, got my Matrix, so my brother had it for a year, he bought a Civic, so sister had it for half a year, she bought a Civic, and now it is back to me, and I alternate between the two vehicles with my girl. The Accord has never left my parents name since 1998. Best car they have owned to date, 262,000kms and original paint, engine and tranny.

Car Purchase: Sept 6th 2000 with 7miles on the odo current Mileage 167,698mi

Why: Just got burned by the "Euro" Phase i went through spent but loads of money on a swap and wanted something reliable and not easily "moddifiable" to control me from going overboard ( like that would really work!) originally started as a lease @ $284.00 a month was easy to save for mods the car was lowered 2 weeks later, so much for not modding it, eventually bought it out right in 2002 with already 36,000 miles on it lol, by then the basic bolt ons had already been on for over a year and dyno tuned it lol! gotta finish this car before kids/marriage puts this on the back burner i feel i am 85% done!:147703263745b138a51

Car Purchase: Aug 2008 (2000 Honda Accord Sedan EX 4 cyl, Leather, Manual Trans) w/ 56k miles

Why: Was driving a Passat Wagon w/ Auto Trans and was badly missing having a manual transmission. I have driven a manual trans all my life and was mistaken to think that I can be happy with an auto. So sold the Passat after 2 yrs of ownership and bought this granny gold accord. Fell in love with the manual trans during the test drive and also loved the seating position and the overall feel. Still loving my car and will prolly stick with this one for several more years untill family needs dictates having a larger car/SUV

I have 105k miles now and so far I have done:
1. Timing belt and other belt replacements (had a repair shop do it)
2. all 4 brake rotors and pad replacement (DIY)
3. Leaking Clutch slave cyl replacement (DIY)
4. Clutch fluid flush (DIY) - made a lot of difference in shift smoothness
5. Added Thule base rack system
6. Made a DIY roof rack with slotted angles and a DIY acrylic sheet fairing
7. Replaced stock shift knob with OEM leather knob
8. Other regular maintenance - oil changes, sparkplugs (DIY)

I will be adding a Kenwood 1-DIN HU over this weekend. Pretty excited!!
